Allan Rannu

Born in 1958 in Moscow, he graduated form high school in Tallinn, Estonia, where learned to paint as an apprentice. Then Allan studied Mongol-Tibet frescos and Persian miniature painting in Samarkand, Central Asia. His family's life was deeply connected to the East: his grandfather was an archeologist who worked at the site of an ancient kingdom of Khorezm, while his mother was a historian in Tuva (Eastern Siberia). Allan spent over 20 years traveling in Central Asia, and Pamir mountains. Later traveled extensively throughout India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Allan Rannu is a painter, photographer, video artist  graphic artist, journalist. His works were exhibited in Moscow, Tallinn, South Africa and the USA.
