Feodor
Makhonin
Feodor
Makhonin was born in a small village near the city of Belgorod, Russia. In
1969 he earned his degree in fine arts from the well respected
College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
He has been a member of the Artist’s Union of Russia since 1971. In 1999, Makhonin was
awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. A title still coveted to the present day in Russia. Makhonin is
recognized for his brilliant and precise etchings, wood engravings and
lithographs. Somewhat less
known was his fascination with abstract painting. In Noveks Gallery Collection, Makhonin is represented by his
three abstract artworks: “Walk”, “Melody” and “Summer Time”.
Created in the traditional medium of oil paint, these pictures
are truly outstanding in their combination of high professionalism and
spirituality. Strong influence
of the Russian Avangard era can be plainly seen in the tone, and mood of
all three compositions. Makhonin’s
pieces can be found in museums and privet collections all around the
world.
